Every October, we proudly participate in breast cancer awareness month. We believe the raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of having regular mammograms has had an enormous impact on our ability as a nation to increase survival rates for breast cancer by detecting and treating it earlier.
What Is Breast Cancer Awareness Month?
Breast cancer awareness month is an annual awareness campaign to help make sure people understand how crucial mammograms and other cancer screening tools can be in saving lives. The campaign runs every year from October 1 through October 31. Breast cancer awareness is symbolized by a pink ribbon and gives brands a visible way to show their support and help raise month for breast cancer research.
What Can I Do to Be a Part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month?
The very best thing you can do to support this effort is to get your mammogram. Then, talk to your relatives and friends, and encourage them to get one too. Offer to take someone to get theirs if they are scared to go. Become a mammogram advocate and talk about breast health and about your experience having a mammogram. Encourage the women in your life to conduct monthly breast exams.
