Dr. Barry R. Morgenstern is a senior partner at Medical Arts Radiology, where he is director of breast imaging. He has 30 years of clinical experience in women’s imaging and interventions. Under his guidance, Medical Arts Radiology was one of the first practices on Long Island to perform digital mammography, 3D mammography, breast MRI and image-guided needle biopsy.

Dr. Morgenstern is a graduate of Yale University and received his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his residency in diagnostic radiology at New York University Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident. Dr. Morgenstern’s post-doctoral training included a fellowship in cardiovascular and interventional radiology at the College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University.

Dr. Morgenstern is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and has received a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in vascular and interventional radiology from the American Board of Radiology. His interests include breast imaging and interventional radiology.

Heidi Burry, MD, DABR

Dr. Heidi Burry received her medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2001. She completed her residency in radiology at the University of South Alabama, and earned the RSNA Roentgen Resident/Fellow Research Award. Dr. Burry then focused on Breast and Body Imaging, completing a fellowship at the University of California San Francisco General Hospital. She is board certified by the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Burry was an Active Duty Flight Surgeon for the United States Air Force, winning Flight Surgeon of the Year in 2005. She is an active member of the following professional organizations:

Dr. Michelle Listhaus is a graduate of Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx who completed her internship in pathology and residency in diagnostic radiology at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. After additional training as a fellow in Body Imaging at Albert Einstein Hospital, she developed a passion for women’s imaging and has extensive experience in breast imaging and interventions. Before joining PURE Mammography, a division of Medical Arts Radiology, Dr. Listhaus worked at the Women’s Imaging Center of Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip, New York. She is board certified by the American Board of Radiology.

Paul Grappell, MD, DABR, FACR

Dr. Paul M. Grappell has been in private practice on Long Island since 1971. Dr. Grappell is the founder of Grappell and Walker Radiology, which has been in Plainview since 1974 and West Islip since 1982.

Dr. Grappell is a graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical Center and did his radiology training in the U.S. Public Health Service that included training in nuclear medicine and radiation oncology at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center and the radiology/pathology program at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP). He has been an assistant attending radiologist in the department of radiology at Nassau County Medical Center. He is past president of the Long Island Radiology Society and is a fellow of the American College of Radiology.

Dr. Grappell is board certified in diagnostic radiology and a member of the American College of Radiology. He has a long-time interest in applications of diagnostic ultrasound to radiology and a special interest in applications in OB/GYN and breast disease.
